What will happen in counselling?

Most importantly, counselling is a safe environment to unload, talk and feel with no judgement. During your first session with your counsellor, you will complete an intake form together that outlines your presenting concerns and goals for therapy. Subsequent sessions will discuss these concerns in detail and you will discover and implement strategies to work towards your goals.

The number of sessions required to reach your goals vary depending on your presenting concerns and the client. Sessions are voluntary and you can begin, terminate or reschedule sessions at any point, as long as you give 24 hours notice. If you are unsure of, or uncomfortable with any information shared or techniques suggested, please inform your counsellor as your comfort is the most important factor.
